Fire crews were busy in St. Joseph County Thursday night, as they battled three fires between 11 p.m. and midnight, and all of them within a mile of each other.

The first was a residential fire in the 700 block of Jackson. The other two were garage fires reported in the 400 block of South Philippa and the 500 block of South Grant.

Officials are still investigating whether the fires were connected.
