Bicyclist in critical condition after being struck by car Thursday night

A 19-year-old is in critical condition after he was struck by a car while riding his bike Thursday night.

South Bend Police were called to the crash near the intersection of Linden Ave. and Edison Ave. just after 8 p.m.

An investigation reveals the car was traveling westbound on Linden when it hit the bicyclist, who was heading in the same direction.

The bicyclist suffered serious internal injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

The driver is cooperating with investigators.
