South Bend Police are searching for a rape suspect.

Robert Jones, 40, is charged with three counts of rape in St. Joseph County, according to ABC 57.

Police were called to the 100 block of North Niles Avenue on reports of a rape on August 24.

The victim told officers she was hanging out with a group of men behind the AM General building when two of them left, leaving one alone with her. He then raped her.

The victim was able to escape the area and went into a local business where she called police.

The victim later identified Jones as the suspect in a photo array provided by the police. He had previously been convicted of rape in Elkhart County.
