The recent budget cuts from Michigan’s governor are impacting a hospital in Southwest Michigan.

The CEO of Three Rivers Health in St. Joseph County told WWMT TV the hospital feels as if it’s being held hostage after Governor Whitmer trimmed more than $16 million out of the budget for rural hospitals in the state.

He says Three Rivers stands to lose about $500,000 from their operating funds and he is working with state officials to find a way to return state funding for rural hospitals into the budget.
