Elkhart man injured after crashing into tree in Cass County

An Elkhart man is recovering from injuries after he crashed into a tree.

The collision happened just before 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11 on Runkle Street near Anderson Road in Milton Township, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

The 31-year-old man was traveling eastbound on Runkle Street when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. He was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment.

It is believed he was wearing his seat belt, and at this time undetermined if intoxicating substances were involved, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office stated.
