An Indiana State Police Trooper stationed in Michiana has been honored for his life-saving efforts.

Master Trooper Michael Gruett, who is stationed at the Bremen post, heard a Marshall County 9-1-1 dispatch in April about a two year-old child had fallen in a pool.

Gruett was recognized for his lifesaving efforts in the rescue of that child while he and the child’s mother waited for EMS to arrive.

The child made a full recovery. Gruett is a 34 year-old veteran of the Indiana State Police.
