Jimmy Lee Mitchell/ ABC 57

A Van Buren County man is behind bars after an alleged sexual assault and robbery.

The victim tells police it happened as she was giving Jimmy Lee Mitchell a ride home from the Laundromat. During the ride home she says he pulled a knife on her, forced her to drive to a secluded cornfield, and physically and sexually assaulted her. After that he had her drive him to Paw Paw where he robbed her and left the vehicle.

She called police and they set up a perimeter around where she dropped him off and used a k-9 to help track him down.

Mitchell is now facing several charges that include assault and robbery.
