Governor Gretchen Whitmer has declared January “Mentoring Month” in Michigan.

In her declaration, Whitmer said the state’s future depends on the success of its youth, and through insightful guidance and meaningful mentoring, Michigan can help make sure the youth of today can realize their own value and potential, while instilling hope for the future.

This month she says Michigan will recognize and commend the efforts of mentoring programs across the state, and encourage Michiganders to make a positive impact in the lives of young people.
