Man charged in sexual battery case in South Bend

A man has been charged with sexual battery after an incident on Eddy Street last August.

Myron Bontrager, 25, was in court Thursday to plead not guilty to the charge.

Court records say a woman was sitting on a bench when Bontrager allegedly sat down next to her while intoxicated and began touching her. After she left he supposedly intercepted her and continued to touch her, despite her protests.

He denied the accusations but video evidence and witnesses appeared to point to him. He’ll be back in court January 28th.
