Dispatchers Resign; Investigation find no wrongdoing

Three 911 dispatchers from St. Joseph county have resigned from their positions as the investigation concludes on how they handled a call about a van crashing into a retention pond.

The crash killed two children inside the vehicle, severely injured their mother and another infant sibling. Officials want to be clear that nobody was asked to resign or fired. Supervisors say the crash took a heavy emotional toll on the individuals involved.

The investigation determined that there was no wrongdoing in the dispatch response.
