Efforts are stepping up as the demolition of the Juvenile Jail in Goshen continues.

Crews began the tear-down of the former detention facility on 2nd Street on January 13 by removing interior items. Physical demolition of the facility itself began this week.

The Elkhart Truth reports that the $1.39 million project is part of the $12 million bond that funded the building of the new facility on County Road 26.
