Granger woman, 21, taken to hospital after colliding with deer

A woman from Granger is recovering after police in Cass County say she struck a deer. The collision happened around 12:20 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, on Union Road near Guyer Street in Porter Township,

The 21-year-old woman was traveling northbound on Union Road when the deer entered her path.

The woman suffered minor injuries and was transported to St. Joe Medical Center for evaluation.

She was wearing a seat belt. Speed was not a factor. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors.
