Metro Homicide investigating two deadly shootings in South Bend

Two deadly shooting investigations are underway in South Bend. Both shootings took place on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

In the first shooting, relatives found a woman dead inside an apartment at Corby Homes on Patty Lane in the early part of the afternoon.

The victim was in her 20s and was found dead of apparent multiple gunshot wounds.

There was no immediate word of any suspects or arrests or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

In a separate incident, a 29-year-old man was shot and killed just after 3 p.m. near the intersection of Dubail and Grant.

Juan Luis Garcia was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Larry McLucas, 35, was later booked into the St. Joseph County Jail on preliminary suspicion of murder.
