ANN ARBOR, Michigan (AP) — An Olympic wrestler says a University of Michigan doctor touched him inappropriately during medical exams at the school and made the behavior seem normal.

Andy Hrovat tells The Associated Press that the physician’s reputation for such conduct was well known among his teammates in the 1990s. Hrovat competed for the U.S. in the 2008 Summer Olympics.

He is the first athlete to make public accusations against the late Dr. Robert E. Anderson, echoing high-profile sexual abuse allegations against doctors at other universities.

According to the documents released to The Associated Press on Friday, the student also recalled Dr. Robert E. Anderson being known by athletes as “Dr. Drop your drawers Anderson.”

The university announced this week that it has launched an investigation into Anderson’s behavior following sexual abuse allegations made by five former patients.

The university’s president apologized Thursday following news of the allegations.
