St. Joseph County Police were called to the intersection of Dragoon Trail and Basswood road early Thursday morning, where they discovered a pair of dead horses and some automobile parts.

The call came in around 4 a.m. and the auto parts were found with the horses in the eastbound lane.

The pieces were collected to assist with the investigation.
