Notre Dame’s annual spring game, The Blue-Gold Game, has been canceled due to concerns about the spread of coronavirus.
Head football coach Brian Kelly released a statement that read in part that all teams not in their competitive seasons have been suspended as the athletic department was implementing coronavirus precautions.

Earlier in the day, the Atlantic Coast Conference suspended all athletic-related activities. That includes all games, practices, recruiting — and participation in NCAA championships until further notice.
ACC Commissioner John Swofford said in a statement that “this is uncharted territory and the health and safety of our student-athletes and institutions remains our top priority.”
Notre Dame men’s basketball head coach Mike Brey tweeted, “The health and safety of our student-athletes, support staff, families and friends are the top priority at this moment.”
