LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Health officials in Michigan say 13 more people have tested positive for the coronavirus, more than doubling the number of cases to 25.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services said Friday the new cases are adults. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the virus. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has banned all gatherings of more than 250 people and restricted visits to hospitals, nursing homes, prisons and juvenile justice facilities.

The Roman Catholic church is suspending Masses in the Detroit region until April 6.

The University of Michigan has canceled all graduation activities planned for early May.
