Tuesday morning, President Trump went after Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer for her state government’s response to the coronavirus.

Trump referred to her as the “Failing Michigan Governor” in an angry tweet that comes just one day after he lashed out at New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. These attacks on state governors come as the president’s administration is under fire for its own handling of the pandemic.

Shortly after Whitmer’s appearance on MSNBC’s morning show, Trump said he “stands with Michigan” and that his administration is pushing her to get the job done.

Whitmer, during her interview, said the federal government hasn’t been prepared, and said she believes we’re getting aggressive against the coronavirus on the state level. She also discussed the need for basic protections for health care workers.

President Trump’s tweet:
“Failing Michigan Governor must work harder and be much more proactive. We are pushing her to get the job done. I stand with Michigan!”
I see nothing “angry” about this statement. He is not “lashing out”, or “attacking”, just making a statement.
