A man from northwest Indiana was arrested after state troopers say they clocked him going nearly 150 miles per hour.
The traffic stop took place just after 12 a.m. on Sunday, March 22, on I-80/94 near Broadway.
A black Dodge Challenger passed the trooper at an extremely high rate of speed, according to the Indiana State Police.
A traffic stop was initiated on the Dodge near Ripley Street.
Further investigation lead the trooper to believe that the driver was impaired.
The driver, Damien Holmes, 29, of Gary, voluntarily performed field sobriety tests and submitted to a certified breath test. The certified test showed his blood alcohol content to be .13%.
Holmes was taken into custody and transported to the Lake County Jail on preliminary charges of O.W.I. and reckless driving.
