Suspect at-large charged with murder at South Bend gas station

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office has charged 31 year-old Anthony Malone, also known as Anthony Wilbourn, with murder in the March 14 death of 24 year-old De’Ashay Thompson.

The victim was killed at the Phillips 66 gas station on North Lafayette Street.

St. Joe County Metro Homicide is still searching for Malone after probably cause has been found for his arrest, and is looking for any information.

Release:

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Anthony
(NMN) Malone (aka Anthony Wilbourn), 31, with Murder and a Firearm Sentencing
Enhancement. He is charged in connection with a St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit
(CMHU) investigation into the March 14, 2020 homicide of 24 year old De’Ashay
Thompson, at the Phillips 66 gas station located at 301 N. Lafayette St.

Probable cause was found and an arrest warrant ordered issued. Defendant was ordered held without bond.

As of the issuance of this release, Mr. Malone has not been taken into custody. Anyone with
information as to his whereabouts is asked to call CMHU at 235-5009, Crime Stoppers at
288-STOP, or local law enforcement.

Please be advised that the charges filed against this defendant are merely accusations and that he is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
