Elkhart man recovering after being shot by acquaintance

A 21-year-old man from Elkhart is recovering after he was shot by an acquaintance.

Police were called around 11:45 p.m. on Friday, March 27, to the 200 block of Larson Avenue in regard to a person with a gunshot wound.

On arrival, police found the victim who suffered a non-life threatening wound to his ankle.

The victim was taken to Elkhart General Hospital.

The victim stated that an acquaintance of his shot him in his foot then left the scene afterward.

As of Saturday afternoon, there have been no arrests made.
