A yard waste drop-off site is reopening in South Bend.

Organic Resources opened to the public Wednesday, after it was temporarily closed as a non-essential service. The restriction was recently lifted after Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb revised his order for garden centers and related businesses.

The public is not allowed inside the building, however, yard waste may be dropped off and fees can be paid through a drive-thru style window at the facility.

Mulch and compost are also available for free if self-loading, or for a fee if assistance is needed.

Organic Resources employees will follow all recommended safety practices from the CDC, including social distancing, using face coverings and sanitizing their office spaces regularly.

The facility is now open Monday through Friday (4340 Trade Drive) from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The office is closed from 12:30-1 p.m. daily. No loading or dumping is allowed when the office is closed.
