The City of Goshen has created a new early retirement program for city workers that are at high risk of COVID-19.

The plan passed unanimously with the city council on both readings. Mayor Jeremy Stutsman referenced at least two specific employees that are at retirement age, considered at high risk, and very concerned about returning to work.

He tells The Goshen News, the program lays out very specific criteria to qualify, and it can pay out as much as $15,000 for those employees that take an early retirement.
