Democrats choose Weinzapfel for State Attorney General candidate

The Democrats have their candidate for State Attorney General.

Chosen through a vote by delegates at last weekend’s virtual state convention–former Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel.

The results of that vote were announced Wednesday evening–just hours after the Republican incumbent, Curtis Hill, returned to work after his 30-day suspension by the State Supreme Court.

Hill hopes to shake off that disciplinary move over the groping of four women. But the

Republican delegate vote concluding July 9th could also turn to any of three challengers, Nate Harter, John Westerkamp and Todd Rokita.
