Michigan’s governor has closed indoor service at bars, but given the go-ahead for “cocktails to go…”

With an Executive Order on Wednesday, citing an increase in daily COVID-19 cases in the state, Governor Whitmer closed indoor service at bars throughout the lower part of Michigan.

The order states that bars in most of the lower peninsula will be allowed to serve drinks outdoors, but not indoors. They can also serve cocktails-to-go.

Data shows that Michigan has shown an increase in coronavirus cases in Michiganders between the ages of 20 and 29, and recent outbreaks have been tied to bars in the state and nationwide.
