A man was seriously injured in a crash in LaPorte County (crash pictured). The collision  happened around 2:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, on U.S. 421. Police say the car was seen swerving before it went off the road into a ditch, stopping south of County Road 1800 South, south of  Wanatah. The 36 year-old driver was airlifted to a hospital for serious upper-body injuries. Police believe excessive speed was a factor.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a crash in Elkhart County where a Bristol man was injured. It happened around 6:45 p.m. on Friday, July 10,  on State Road 15, north of County Road 10 near Bristol when the 33-year-old man behind the wheel of a pick-up ran off the road and crashed into a ditch and a tree stump. The man suffered cuts to the face. He was treated at the scene. The investigation into the crash is still underway.
