Michigan voters are still anxious to get absentee ballots, skyrocketing the state’s remote voting program numbers.

Voters in the state have requested hundreds of thousands more absentee ballots than they did four years ago. More than 1.67 million of the ballots had been mailed to voters as of Tuesday, according to Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson. That’s roughly three and a half times as many requests than at this point before the 2016 Primary Election.

About 324,000 have been sent in by voters.

Michigan’s Primary has been scheduled for August 4. Voters will still be able to vote in-person on that date.
