Hyundai, Kia issue recalls and warnings

(Tommie Lee/MNC)

Hyundai is warning owners and issuing a recall on 180 thousand SUV’s due to an electrical short.

It’s the company’s second recall this month. Hyundai is recalling 180,000 2019 to 2021 Tuscon models and warning owners to park outside.

The Korean automaker says corrosion can cause a short circuit in defective anti-lock brake circuit boards that can cause a fire, even if the engine is turned off.

A dozen engine fires have been reported, but no injuries.

Kia is issuing a similar recall and warning for the same problem in more than 9000 of their Stinger sports cars.
