Howmet Aerospace in LaPorte laying off hundreds of workers

150 employees at a manufacturing plant in LaPorte will soon be out of a job.

That was confirmed Tuesday by a spokesperson from Howmet Aerospace, reports WSBT.

Howmet Aerospace makes components for jet engines, fasteners, and titanium structures for aerospace applications.

That spokesperson says fewer people are flying airplanes because of the pandemic, so fewer airplanes need airplane parts.

As many as 115 people were already let go from the company earlier this month.
