A new officer unit has been created to solely focus on traffic concerns throughout St. Joseph County.

The County Police Traffic Unit began patrolling this week with 3 officers dedicated to the effort to quickly respond to traffic calls and complaints and monitor problem areas of St. Joseph County.

Sheriff Redman stated, “the most constant and consistent concerns I hear from our county residents are about traffic and driving. The Traffic Unit officers will now be dedicated to quickly responding to traffic calls and complaints and monitoring the problems areas of the county.”

The department has also created an email address for resident traffic complaints, trafficcomplaints@sjcpd.org. Residents may also call (574) 235-9032.
