Chicago men, 18 and 19, arrested in Berrien County after pursuit in stolen vehicle

Two men from Chicago who police say were in a stolen vehicle have been arrested in Berrien County.

Police in Buchanan attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle they were in around 10:40 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 13.

Investigators say the driver did not pull over and led the deputy on a pursuit through Buchanan, the township of Niles and the city of Niles.

The vehicle crashed into a dirt embankment. The 18 and 19-year-old suspects took off on foot. One of the suspects was quickly taken into custody. The second suspect was found after a three-hour search.

Investigators say the vehicle they were in was reported stolen from Champaign, Illinois.
