Illinois man arrested after leading police on chase from New Buffalo to St. Joseph Township

An Illinois man was arrested after leading police on a chase near New Buffalo to St. Joseph Township.

The pursuit began early Tuesday morning. Investigators say 21-year-old Amar Connor was clocked driving 88 m.p.h. and led officers from I-94 to Red Arrow Highway before turning into a driveway in the 3500 block of Lakeshore Drive.

A sheriff’s deputy and K9 officer tracked the suspect into a wooded area.

A drone company was called in to assist police in the search.

Connor was eventually located in the Village of Shorham.

He faces weapons charges and counts of eluding and resisting. He is also wanted on a warrant of Cook County.
