A dispute between two vehicles on the road in Cass County led to a woman being shot.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a 911 call around 7:30 PM Saturday night. Gunshots from one vehicle headed north on Barron Lake Road in Howard Township were fired at someone in a second vehicle.

Deputies stopped a pickup with a flat tire near Pokagon Highway, which had sustained damage from gunfire. A second vehicle was found near Pokagon and Hampshire Street on the side of the road with four occupants. One was the woman who had been shot. Her injuries were not life-threatening.

The investigation continues and anyone with information should contact the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
