Two arrested following string of Michiana porch thefts

Two people were arrested Tuesday following a string of porch thefts in Michiana.

Shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday, a St. Joseph County police officer spotted a maroon Jeep Cherokee traveling along Ireland Road that matched a suspect vehicle involved in recent thefts.

The officer conducted a traffic stop, and found the driver and passenger to be in possession of a controlled substance and property suspected stolen out of St. Joseph County, Elkhart County and Cass County, Michigan.

Isaray Rodriguez, 21 of South Bend, was arrested and booked on preliminary charges of a Possession of a Schedule I-IV Controlled Substance, Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana and False Informing.

Stephanie Stouder, 28 of Bristol, was arrested and booked on a preliminary charge of Theft, and is being held on a warrant out of Elkhart County.

Police are still working to connect Stouder to additional suspected thefts in St. Joseph County, Osceola, South Bend, Goshen, Walkerton, Elkhart City, Elkhart County and Edwardsburg.
