An inmate at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City has died.

Indiana State Police say Daniel L. Heflin, 30, of Goshen, died at the prison on Thursday, Jan. 21.

The Indiana Department of Correction contacted Indiana State Police about the death that same day.

Heflin’s family has already been notified. Heflin was serving a 90-year sentence for murder.

He was sentenced in 2012.

The investigation is ongoing.
