Historic building in LaGrange is for sale

(95.3 MNC)

A historic building in LaGrange is on the market.

Now known as the “1886 Inn,” the large, brick house on Factory Street was built in 1886 by Samuel Shepardson, a Civil War veteran.

According to WANE-TV, the house was one of the first to have furnaces rather than fireplaces.

Shepardson also installed an intercom system so his family could communicate around the house, which is more than 4,000 square feet.

A century later, it was turned into a bed-and-breakfast. But now, the owners are looking to sell it, with its original woodwork and lights and unique window designs.

The house has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, and is listed at $289,900.
