Several animals die in a Berrien County barn fire

A fire in a Berrien County barn claimed the lives of several animals Thursday morning. Four llamas, two peacocks and roughly a dozen chickens died in the fire around 5:30 a.m. in the 5100 block of Brownstown Road in Sawyer.

Two horses and goats were saved, according to the South Bend Tribune. Foul play is not suspected and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
