Watervliet area man, 29, seriously hurt after crash, landing in swamp

(95.3 MNC)

Speed appears to be a factor in a crash that seriously injured a Watervliet area man.

It was around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, when deputies from the Berrien County Sheriff Office responded to the call for an injury rollover collision with the car coming to rest off in a swamp of Meadowbrook Road near Park Road in Bainbridge Township.

It appeared that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control, and went off of the roadway, colliding into some small trees, landing in deep mud and partly rolling over.

The driver was not wearing a set belt, according to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver was taken to Lakeland Spectrum Hospital in St Joseph with possible life-threatening injuries.
