A 21-year-old man was shot in Niles.

It happened on Tuesday afternoon, April 27, near Chicago and Hillcrest Roads.

The victim was shot in the leg.

A vehicle was seen headed westbound on Chicago Road afterward, but there was no word of any arrests.

Ballard Elementary School was placed on lockdown, due to being close to the incident.
