Children between the ages of 12 and 15 could be eligible as soon as next week for the Pfizer vaccine.

Pfizer says the FDA is expected to authorize the vaccine for those 12 to 15 early next week, and county health officials are encouraging parents to take their kids to get the shot. Pfizer says clinical trials have shown the vaccine is 100% effective in that age group.

Trial data for 12 to 15 year-olds has shown to be even better than the data for older people.

Vaccine safety studies for younger children are ongoing.
