Sentencing for one of three men convicted in a deadly 2019 confinement and robbery has been postponed to early June.

Matthew Murzynski, 25, is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to two charges related to an October 2019 murder in Elkhart.

While he wasn’t accused of killing Kimberly Dyer, 31, he was charged with confining her and with confining and robbing a Sturgis man during the same incident.

Murzynski was suppose to be sentenced on Thursday, May 6, but the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office filed a motion to continue on the grounds that the trial technically hasn’t concluded yet and the jury was not made aware of Murzynski’s status as a codefendant or that he had entered a plea, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.
