He was found thanks to Snapchat.

A 19-year-old Columbia City man was hurt when his car crashed into a wooded area Tuesday night.

Easton Adkins was on the phone with some friends when he lost connection with them, said the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.

Police say Adkins had been driving eastbound on County Road 350 North, east of County Road 925 East, when his Ford Fusion left the road and hit a tree near the public access entrance in the Pisgah Marsh Nongame Area.

Police said Adkins was trying to find a friend near Durham Lake and when the call dropped, his friends called police.

His friends used his Snapchat location and were able to find the wreck.

Adkins was airlifted to a hospital.
