Change is in the air in regards to the pandemic on the Notre Dame campus in South Bend.

With the CDC recommending new masking guidelines last week, the school is relaxing its mask policy. They say students will no longer have to keep masks on while outside on campus. Masks are still required when inside buildings on campus.

The school says in the past seven days students and staff have had a zero-percent positivity rate. The school expects 90-percent of its students to be fully vaccinated by Thursday, May 20th.

That’s when the school plans to amend its mask requirements again. That’s when masking indoors while in residential buildings will be optional for students who are fully vaccinated.

There will be some buildings on campus that will continue to require masks to be worn while inside.
