The Northern Indiana Conference has honored four area High School athletes and a head coach.

The Elkhart Truth reports that Derrick Woods of Elkhart and Penn’s Vincent Nierzwicki-Trifiletti shared MVP honors on the boys side, while the Lions’ Mia Pulianas and Penn’s Nicole Marshall earned Co-MVP honors for the girls.

Also, Adam Homo was named NIC Coach of the Year after leading the Elkhart Boys Track & Field Team to a second place finish at the recent NIC meet and a win over Penn in the regular season.
