Police in Elkhart are now accusing the woman injured in a double stabbing of killing her husband before stabbing herself.

Elkhart Police say 31 year-old Bianca Hernandez and her husband, 35 year-old Alejandro Vergara were both found covered in blood in the basement of a Dunlap area home.

The Elkhart Truth reports that after comparing her story to the evidence they collected, Hernandez was charged with murder. She was arrested on May 20 and is due in court on Thursday.

Court documents say she claimed her husband had stabbed her twice and then stabbed himself. The doctor who treated her said the angle of her injuries were consistent with being self-inflicted.
