The Goshen Schools have lowered their graduation requirements.

The Elkhart Truth reports that Monday, the school board approved a staff proposal to lower the required credits from 43 to 40, Indiana’s state minimum.

The new number was proposed by Principal Barry Younghans at the May 10 meeting, as a way to benefit students that are struggling to graduate. He said those students will need to focus on mandatory classes, rather than electives.
