An inmate was hurt after a stabbing at the St. Joseph County Jail.

Malik Ware was stabbed Monday afternoon by his cellmate, Mark Coleman, say police.

Ware had a cut on his neck and two stab wounds on his arm. He was taken to the hospital and released that evening.

Jail staff think the attack was unprovoked.

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor will decide if Coleman will face charges.
