A joint study will explore possible improvements to transportation between St. Joseph and Elkhart Counties.

Redevelopment commissions in both counties are working together to survey the main routes between them, and look for ways to make them stronger.

The Elkhart Truth reports that the County Connections Mobility Study will establish the cost of necessary infrastructure improvements at each point between the counties, establish the most pressing needs, and even identify the strategies to fund them.

The commissions will host a joint public open house Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the new Cleveland Township Fire Station on County Road 6. You can learn more at the joint commission’s website.
