Community members and leaders are inviting residents in St. Joseph to take part in the annual National Night Out on August 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Maiden lane Community Park.

The National Night Out is an event that raises awareness throughout the community towards crime and drug prevention.

It is often a night where people lock their doors, turn on their outside lights, and spend the evening getting to know their neighbors and local police.

This year the event will feature a demonstration of the Jaws of Life and a landing of the South Bend Med Flight helicopter.

Hotdogs, chips, soda, and even Culver’s Frozen custard will be available for anyone who attends.
