The jury trial is underway for a man who is accused of shooting and killing a 7-year-old girl in South Bend back in 2020.

18-year-old Jaheim Campbell is charged with murder and attempted murder.

Reports say Campbell fired multiple shots from a car while driving past a child’s birthday party in the 800 block of East Donald Street on August 29.

This resulted in the death of Chrisyah Stephens.

On Monday the jury was selected and opening statements were given.

Testimony is currently underway.
